Georgia State will not renew the contract of head coach Roger Kincaid, the school announced on Tuesday.
Kincaid spent eleven seasons as the head coach of the Panthers, and collected a 304-274 overall record during his tenure. He shepherded the program through the transition from the Colonial Athletic Association to the Sun Belt Conference.
During the 2021 season, Georgia State collected a 16-30 overall record and a 3-18 mark in Sun Belt play. The Panthers finished 10th in the conference, but won a play-in game to open the conference tournament and advance to the double-elimination portion of the bracket.
In 2017, the Panthers played in the National Invitational Softball Championship postseason tournament and hosted a regional during the tournament’s opening round.
Prior to taking the helm at Georgia State, Kincaid was an assistant coach at GSU before being promoted, and also spent more than a decade coaching at the high school and travel ball levels. He was a member of the 1980 Georgia Bulldogs football team that won the national championship.
