IUPUI pitcher Nickole Finch will not suit up for the Jaguars in 2018, JWOS has confirmed. Finch, who would have been entering her senior year, has been removed from the team’s roster online.
Finch played a considerable role in the Jaguars’ regular-season Summit League championship in 2017, appearing in forty-four games and logging 194.2 innings of work in the circle. She posted a 4.89 ERA and fourteen wins for her part, leading her team in the latter category.
A Valparaiso, Indiana native, Finch started three of her team’s four games in the Summit League tournament in 2017, as well as the Jaguars’ first-ever postseason game in the opening round of the NISC tournament.
After the 2017 season. Finch earned a nod to the Summit League’s all-conference second-team and finished second in the league in victories.
Her departure leaves first-year head coach Elisabeth Beirne with an entirely new crop of pitchers, each in their first seasons as Jags. The Jaguars will play their first season in the Horizon League in 2018 and seek to make back-to-back postseason appearances for the first time in program history.
