Former Tennessee outfielder Jenna Holcomb is transferring to San Diego State.
SDSU announced the addition of Holcomb on Thursday. A senior who will play in 2021 under the NCAA’s extended eligibility waiver, Holcomb finished her career in Knoxville with a .353 batting average and 110 runs scored. She recorded a .391 on-base percentage with 32 stolen bases during her four years as a Lady Vol, including the abbreviated 2020 season. She earned all-region honors in 2018 and was named 2nd team all-SEC in 2019.
Announcing her decision on Instagram, Holcomb wrote, “So excited to announce my commitment to pursue my masters and softball career at San Diego State University. I can’t wait to play closer to home for my last year of college softball. Very grateful for this new opportunity. Go Aztecs!”
The addition of Holcomb marks the eighth former Power 5 player who have transferred to the Aztecs in the last two years; former Florida infielder Danielle Romanello officially joined SDSU in April.
