Incarnate Word and head coach Joe DiPietro have parted ways, JWOS has confirmed.
As of Tuesday evening, DiPietro is no longer listed on the UIW website, and additionally confirmed his departure on social media.
DiPietro spent four seasons as the head coach at Incarnate Word after being hired in the summer of 2017. He posted an overall record of 47-117 during his tenure, as well as a 20-62 mark against Southland Conference opponents.
The 2021 season was arguably the program’s finest under DiPietro’s tenure, as the Cardinals went 16-27 overall on the year, with a 9-18 conference mark. The program finished ninth in the Southland conference standings and narrowly missed the conference tournament.
Prior to taking the helm at Incarnate Word, DiPietro had been the head coach at Hampton, Temple, and La Salle, and also spent a single season on staff at Drexel.
