Valparaiso head coach Kate Stake resigned on Tuesday, the school announced.
Stake spent seven seasons as the Valpo head coach, earning 119 wins and leading the program to the 2016 Horizon League tournament title & gaining the conference’s automatic berth in the NCAA tournament.
In 2018, Stake led the program through the transition from membership in the Horizon League to a new league in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Valpo finished the 2021 season with a 5-35 overall record, with a single win in conference play.
Prior to taking the helm at Valpo, Stake spent two years as an assistant coach at Hofstra and was part of the 2014 Northeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year. Her resume also includes stints on staff at Army and Eastern Illinois.
