Former Ole Miss outfielder Kaylee Horton is transferring to Auburn, she announced on social media on Wednesday.
“I am extremely blessed and excited to announce that I will play my final season at Auburn University,” Horton wrote in a statement on Twitter. “I am beyond grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to play back in my home state. War Eagle!”
Horton entered the NCAA’s transfer portal on February 4th, three days prior to the start of the 2020 season. She sat out and did not participate in the abbreviated 2020 campaign.
A true utility player, Horton started in both the infield and outfield during her career in Oxford. She ended her career with a .280 career batting average during three years as a Rebel, with seventy-six runs scored and thirty-six stolen bases.
Auburn finished the 2020 season with a 16-11 overall record, including an 0-3 showing in SEC play during the shortened season. The Tigers ended the year with a .266 team batting average and a 34-43 showing on the base paths.
