TRENDING NOW: NCAA TRANSFER TRACKER / COLLEGE COACHING TRACKER
Kim Dean has stepped down as the Georgia Southern head coach, the school announced on Tuesday evening.
Dean spent the past fourth seasons as the Eagles’ head coach, collecting an 82-89 overall record during her tenure. The program also posted a 32-47 mark against Sun Belt conference opponents.
The Eagles posted a 17-26 overall record during the 2021 season, with a 9-14 conference showing. Early in the year, the Eagles twice had a late lead on top-5 Florida and were beaten in the second game by a walk-off hit from the Gators. Playing rival Georgia State in the play-in game for the Sun Belt tournament, the Eagles suffered an upset loss that ended their season.
Prior to taking the helm at Georgia Southern, Dean spent one season as the head coach at Armstrong State before that school merged with Georgia Southern. Her coaching resume also includes a stint on staff at Southern Indiana, as well as a tenure in a support role at Wisconsin-Parkside.
