California softball great Kristina Thorson will be inducted into the Golden Bears Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2018.
Thorson pitched for Cal from 2003-06, earning a trio of all-American honors during her career and was named the Pac-10 Conference’s Pitcher of the Year in her senior year of 2006. Thorson earned all-PAC honors in all four years of her career, including three consecutive first-team nods in the final three seasons of her collegiate career.
One of the all-time program greats, Thorson sits in the top five in four different statistical categories in the Golden Bears’ all-time record books. She is second all-time in saves; third in appearances; and fourth in wins and strikeouts. As a senior in 2006, Thorson set the program’s single-season wins record.
After her collegiate career ended, Thorson went on to a lengthy professional career, playing for several teams in the NPF and internationally.
Joining Thorson as part of the Hall of Fame class of 2018 are Duje Draganja (swimming); Ramon Jimenez-Gaona (track & field); Geoff McArthur (football); Valerie McClain (rowing); Teri McKeever (swimming & diving coach); Alysia Montano (track & field); Leon Powe (basketball); Elsie Windes (water polo); and Joe Starkey (voice of Cal football).
The group will be in a ceremony on October 26th and will be honored on the field during the Cal vs. Washington football game on October 27th.
