The Lipscomb Bisons have added a pair of arms to their roster via the transfer portal.
UNLV transfer Breanna Burke and former Appalachian State transfer Maddie Siemer were each announced as new members of the Lipscomb roster on Wednesday; both are right-handed pitchers.
Burke, who will be a graduate senior in 2021, spent four years on the pitching staff at UNLV. She led the Rebels in ERA as both a freshman and a junior and sported an undefeated 4-0 record on the 2020 season when the campaign abruptly ended. For her career in Las Vegas, Burke notched a 2.47 ERA with 20 wins and 131 strikeouts in more than 271 innings of work.
Siemer will also be a graduate senior next year, after beginning her career at Butler Community College and spending the last two seasons at Appalachian State. While at Butler, Siemer sported a 25-4 record during her two years on the squad, with 179 strikeouts to her credit during the same period. She was part of the Butler team that won the 2017 NJCAA National Championship. At Appalachian State, Siemer appeared sparingly, recording just two wins and 32 strikeouts in 79 innings of work across her two years with the Mountaineers.
Prior to the 2020 season’s cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lipscomb sported a 12-10 overall record. The team held a 3.79* ERA across those first 22 games, while opponents recorded a .272 batting average against them.
