Bianca Duran has been named the interim head coach at Louisiana Tech.
Duran, who spent the last four seasons on the coaching staff with the Lady Techsters, will serve in the interim role through the 2021 season. She was the only full-time member remaining on the LA Tech coaching staff this summer, following head coach Maria Winn’s departure earlier in the offseason.
A program alum, Duran was the program’s second assistant coach for the first three years of her tenure, and was promoted to the top assistant’s role for the 2020 campaign. She previously spent the 2016 season as an assistant coach at Stanislaus State.
After beginning her playing career at Western Nebraska Community College, Duran transferred to Louisiana Tech to finish her career. She earned all-region honors as a senior, and was named to the Conference USA All-Tournament Team that same year.
Louisiana Tech finished the abbreviated 2020 season with an 8-16 overall record, and had begun conference play with a 2-1 record before the COVID-19 pandemic ended the year. In the last full season of play in 2019, the Lady Techsters finished 45-16 and made the NCAA tournament as Conference USA champions.
