Miami (OH) has signed head coach Clarisa Crowell to a contract extension, the school announced last week.
A university spokesperson confirmed to JWOS that the extension is a 3-year pact.
The 2019 season marked Crowell’s seventh as the head coach of the RedHawks, and saw the first regular-season conference championship of her tenure with the program. Crowell was named the conference Coach of the Year after the season, the first such award of her tenure in Oxford, after leading the team to a 35-16 overall record.
During her time at the helm of the RedHawks, Crowell has led the squad to a 196-174 overall record, with a 90-61 showing in Mid-American Conference matchups. The RedHawks have reached the conference tournament each year under her leadership, and reached the NCAA tournament in 2016.
Prior to taking the helm at Miami, Crowell spent time as an assistant coach at Oklahoma State, Syracuse, and Ohio University. As a player, Crowell was a three-time all-conference selection at Virginia Tech and is a member of the Hokies’ Hall of Fame.
