Carly Wynn has been named the associate head coach at Minnesota, the school announced on Wednesday evening.
Wynn spent the last five seasons on staff at Arizona State, where she was part of the coaching staff that led the Sun Devils to the 2018 Women’s College World Series. She served as the team’s recruiting coordinator, hitting coach, and outfield instructor; the 2019 saw a pair of her outfielders earn All-American awards in Morgan Howe and Kindra Hackbarth.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join Coach Ritter and the Gophers,” Wynn said in a school statement. “I’m so thankful to Mark Coyle, Marc Ryan and the entire administration at the University of Minnesota for the opportunity to be a part of such a well-established program. This team already knows what it’s like to win at the highest level, and I’m excited to continue that legacy alongside of Coach Ritter.”
Prior to her tenure at ASU, Wynn spent four years on staff at Fresno State and also spent time on staff at her alma mater, Florida State. During her playing career, Wynn was an All-American and a three-time all-conference honoree; at her career’s end, she ranked in the top ten in seven offensive categories in the Seminole record books.
