A native of Glendale, Arizona, Juarez began her playing career at Arizona State before transferring to Oklahoma. She battled injuries during her Sooner career but emerged as the ace of the Sooners’ pitching staff during the 2021 Women’s College World Series, guiding the Sooners to the national title.
Named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2021 WCWS, Juarez ended her Sooner career with a 53-6 overall record and a 1.74 ERA, having notched 437 strikeouts and a .161 opponent’s batting average during her three years in Norman.
Juarez follows Sooner teammate Tiare Jennings and Oklahoma head coach Patty Gasso in throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at MLB games this summer. Both Jennings and Gasso took to the mound prior to Los Angeles Dodgers games.
