Two members of the Louisiana-Lafayette roster entered the NCAA’s transfer portal on Tuesday, sources confirmed to JWOS.
Mia Camuso and Madison Garay, neither of whom saw any action during the 2020 season, are transferring out of Cajunland.
Camuso is a former Oregon transfer who joined the Ragin’ Cajuns in the summer of 2019. She spent the abbreviated 2020 season in rehab after suffering an injury in the fall. During her two years on the field at Oregon in 2017 and ’18, Camuso started 117 games as a utility player. She batted .341 as a freshman and collected twenty-six doubles during her career as a Duck.
Garay is a Bay City, Texas native who took a redshirt during the abbreviated 2020 season and has four seasons of eligibility remaining. During her high school career, her most recent on-field experience, Garay recorded 54 pitching wins and a .447 batting average on the other side of the ball.
The Ragin’ Cajuns were 18-6 overall during the 2020 campaign and were ranked #1 in the nation in the initial RPI rankings.
