Former Southeast Missouri standout Rachel Anderson is joining the coaching staff at Webster University, she announced on social media.
“Hi Webster, I’m your new assistant softball hitting & outfield coach,” Anderson wrote on social media, adding the hashtag “#chasingdreams”.
Anderson graduated from SEMO following her “super senior” year of eligibility in 2021, leaving Cape Girardeau as one of the program’s all-time great offensive stars. She set the program records for career games started (227), hits (271), walks (108), total bases (461), and runs scored (171) all during the 2021 season. She holds an additional four program offensive records, including career batting average with a .411 mark.
Webster University is a Division III school in Webster Groves, Missouri. The Gorloks finished the 2021 season with a 21-12 overall record, including a 6-4 conference record. The Gorlok offense batted .308 at the plate as a team, with fourteen home runs and a .369 team on-base percentage.
