Ronnie Ladines will join the coaching staff at UTSA, sources confirmed to JWOS on Monday.
She is expected to work with the team’s pitching staff, replacing Jordan Wallace Simon, who departed the staff earlier in the summer after four years with the program.
Ladines spent the 2020 season as an assistant coach at Utah Valley. She was part of the coaching staff that led the Wolverines to a 12-7 overall record during the abbreviated 2020 season.
Prior to her tenure at UVU, Ladines spent two seasons as a graduate assistant on staff at Akron. She enjoyed a playing career at Kent State from 2014-17 and played in the inaugural season of the American Softball Association.
During her playing career at Kent State, Ladines earned a number of honors, including a pair of First-Team All-Conference awards. She was also named to a pair of all-region squads and finished her collegiate career with 62 wins, 622 strikeouts, and a 2.23 lifetime ERA.
The abbreviated 2020 season saw UTSA post a 14-11 overall record, including a 1-2 mark in conference play. The Roadrunners’ pitching staff recorded a 6.37 cumulative ERA, with 101 strikeouts and an opponent’s batting average of .301.
