Liberty is adding Sami Fagan as the program’s new volunteer assistant coach, JWOS has learned.
Most recently, Fagan spent a three-year stint on staff at Virginia Tech. Fagan was a graduate assistant for the Hokies and was part of the staff during the team’s ACC regular-season championship in 2019.
During her playing career, Fagan played two professional seasons in Japan and three seasons domestically. She most recently suited up during Athletes Unlimited’s inaugural season in 2020. An All-American at Missouri as a collegiate player, Fagan twice earned all-SEC honors and was the Rookie of the Year in National Pro Fastpitch during the 2016 summer season.
Fagan will replace Chase Cassady as Liberty’s volunteer assistant coach. Cassady served in the role during the 2021 season. Sami Fagan’s sister, Kasey, is a full-time assistant on the Flames’ coaching staff.
