Green Bay has hired Sara Kubuske as the program’s new head coach.
Kubuske takes the reins of the Phoenix after a decade as the top assistant at Division II Indianapolis, where she helped lead the program to a regional appearance in each year of her tenure with the team. Kubuske was part of the Midwest regional Coaching Staff of the Year three times while at UIndy.
In 2017, Kubuske was named the NFCA’s Division II Assistant Coach of the Year.
Prior to joining the staff at UIndy, Kubuske spent time as an assistant coach at Bemidji State. As a player at UW-Parkside, Kubuske earned a number of academic awards, including the Wisconsin-Parkside’s Female Academic Athlete of the Year award in her senior season and academic all-conference honors. She was also named an All-American Scholar Athlete.
The Green Bay Phoenix finished the 2019 season with a 12-29 overall record, including a 7-17 mark in Horizon League play. The Phoenix ended the year with a .242 team batting average and a cumulative ERA of 4.09 from the team’s pitching staff.
