TRENDING NOW: NCAA TRANSFER TRACKER / COLLEGE COACHING TRACKER
Montana is down one assistant coach, following Sarah O’Brien’s departure from the Grizzlies’ coaching staff.
O’Brien is still listed on the team’s website, but announced her own departure via social media this week. In a lengthy note addressed to the Grizzlies’ players, O’Brien called coaching the group “one of my biggest honors and privileges in this life.”
Captioning her post, O’Brien wrote, “As I put Missoula, MT in my rear view mirror this morning I could not be more thankful for the time I spent with such an INCREDIBLE group of athletes, coaches, bothers & sisters in Christ, and Griz Nation. I will forever be a Griz.”
Prior to joining the Montana coaching staff, O’Brien spent one season as a volunteer assistant at Houston and six seasons on staff at Division III Texas Lutheran. She finished her playing career at then-Division II Incarnate Word.
On Wednesday, O’Brien was announced as an assistant coach for the 18u Blaze United squad as part of the Texas Blaze travel ball program. In addition to joining the travel ball coaching ranks, O’Brien will work as a private instructor in Texas.
