Green Bay has parted ways with head coach Scott Wachholz after three seasons.
Wachholz posted a 27-95 overall record during his trio of seasons leading the Phoenix, including an 18-49 mark in Horizon League play. The Phoenix went 12-29 (7-17) during the 2019 season, with the team’s overall record at its best showing under Wachholz’s tenure.
Before assuming the position at Green Bay, Wachholz served as head coach at UW-Parkside for two seasons and at Williston State College for a single year. His resume also includes stints as an assistant coach at Southwest Minnesota State and Columbus State, as well as time spent at the high school level and as a student assistant coach at Wisconsin.
In addition to their 12-29 overall record, the Phoenix posted a team batting average of .242 and twenty-one home runs during the 2019 season. The squad’s pitching staff finished the season with a 4.09 team ERA and 138 strikeouts in 260 innings of work.
