TRENDING NOW: NCAA TRANSFER TRACKER / COLLEGE COACHING TRACKER
Concordia Nebraska has announced Tatum Edwards as their new head coach.
Edwards spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach at Omaha, helping guide the Mavericks’ program to a 16-win improvement from the 2019 season to the 2021 campaign.
“Our athletic leadership team identified Coach Edwards as an exceptional young coach in our search for a new leader of Concordia Softball,” athletic director Devin Smith said in a statement. “Her credentials as both a coach and player speak for themselves and will serve her well as she takes this new step in her professional career. I believe strongly in Tatum’s ability to elevate our program, establish day-to-day consistency for our student-athletes and represent Bulldog Athletics with Christian character. I look forward to working with Coach Edwards.”
Prior to her stint on staff at Omaha, Edwards spent one season as volunteer assistant at Purdue in 2018 and two seasons as a graduate assistant at Nebraska, her alma mater. She also played professional softball domestically for three seasons.
During her playing career at Nebraska, Edwards was a two-time All-American and was named the Big Ten Pitcher of the Year in 2013. She finished her playing career as a Husker with her name in the all-time top ten in seven statistical categories in the circle and five statistical categories at the plate.
