A plethora of big-name, top-quality players will be suiting up in different uniforms in 2019, and we’ve got you covered to make sure you don’t miss a single one of them.
Missouri has seen a mass exodus of top talent, including sluggers Braxton Burnside and Amanda Sanchez. The pair will be joined in leaving Columbia by Rylee Pierce, an all-SEC infielder who will head to Tucson, Arizona where she’ll join Mike Candrea’s Wildcats for her senior season in 2019. During her three-year career at Mizzou, Pierce hit .306 with twenty-four home runs and seventy-five RBI. The Tigers’ starting first baseman during her tenure, Pierce hit .335 on the 2018 season, with eight home runs and a .439 on-base percentage. She retains a single season of eligibility and will be eligible to play immediately at Arizona.
Staying in the SEC, the Florida Gators added an all-conference star of their own in outfielder Jade Caraway. Moving from North Carolina State, Caraway spent two seasons in Raleigh, leading the Wolfpack in hits both years and collecting 113 base knocks during that time. She was named a second team all-ACC honoree in 2017 and was also named to the conference’s all-freshman roster. She retains two years of eligibility.
Courtney Oliver’s East Carolina Pirates added a powerful bat of their own via transfer, bringing former Campbell slugger Rachel McCollum into the fold. Yet another all-conference honoree while playing with the Fighting Camels in the Big South, McCollum hit forty home runs during her pair of seasons at CU. She batted .367 during her time at Campbell, adding 117 RBIs. She ranked seventh overall nationwide in the 2018 season with 143 total bases. After finishing her sophomore season at Campbell, she carries two years of remaining eligibility.
Other moves of note: Former California pitcher and Eagle, Idaho native Bradie Fillmore will transfer to Boise State to pitch for her hometown team for the remainder of her career… Duke has added former Radford standout Marissa Gagliano. A .320 career hitter, Gagliano brings speed and a .408 career on-base percentage to the Blue Devils lineup… Paula Congleton’s New Mexico Lobos have bolstered their pitching ranks, adding former Wichita State pitcher Bailey Klitzke. Klitzke brings two years of remaining eligibility with her to the desert and boasts a career 3.52 ERA… former Akron pitcher Kayla Kmett will finish her career at St. John’s, joining the Big East power with three years remaining in her career.
