Virginia Tech infielder Maddi Banks has entered the transfer portal, sources confirmed to JWOS on Thursday.
As a freshman in 2019, Banks batted .259, with four home runs and a .729 OPS. She was the Hokies’ starting second baseman, and also led the team with thirteen stolen bases as a rookie. During the abbreviated 2020 season, Banks finished fifth on the team with a .340 batting average and recorded three home runs and nine RBIs. She posted a slugging percentage of .585 and an OPS of .937.
During the summer, Banks suited up for the Bradenton Slice in the Florida Gulf Coast League’s inaugural season. She batted .396 during the regular season in the FGCL, recording five home runs and eighteen RBIs, and added four triples and four stolen bases.
