What is she known for? Gatti spent four seasons as a starting pitcher at Syracuse, earning a nomination to the Mid Atlantic all-region third team in her sophomore season of 2016. In her senior season of 2018, Gatti posted a 12-7 win-loss record with a 3.16 ERA and ninety-five strikeouts.
Here’s something interesting… In addition to being a quality softball hurler, Gatti earned her Bachelor’s degree in food studies and says she found a “passion” in that field. “It’s all about learning how to use the resources around you to make healthy meals,” she says.
Quotable quote: “Being a student athlete, you have to be able to manage school, softball and social life. It, at times, seems impossible; however, you grow and learn from upperclassmen and you become a better version of you throughout the process.”
What’s she up to now? After graduating from Syracuse in 2018, Gatti participated in the inaugural offering of the ASBA professional league in Mobile, Alabama. “It felt like the good days of 10u travel ball for me, where you played the game you loved and got to be around people that loved it just as much as you!” she says. After the summer season, Gatti accepted a graduate assistant position on staff at Saint Francis, working under first-year head coach Jessica O’Donnell.
