I spent most of Saturday out at Madeira Beach, taking in the second day of the inaugural Division I offering under THE Spring Games' label and tournament branding. With more to follow on my day at the Beach - if only that were a literal statement... - here were some of my immediate takeaways from the action:
1. The venue is gorgeous
This was my first time visiting Madeira Beach, and I was blown away by the views and skylines from nearly every part of the complex. There's a beautiful body of water just beyond some of the outfield fences, creating some waterfront breezes and leading to the appearance of a sailboat or other watercraft every now and then. The complex itself, while fairly minimal in frills and thrills, is particularly well-kept and obviously frequently groomed and managed. Oh, and if you're heading to Madeira Beach and decide to visit the concession stand, try the rosemary parm fries. Trust me, you won't regret it.
