Ashley Balazs has resigned as head coach at Pittsburg State, the school announced on Saturday.
Balazs spent the last four seasons as the Gorillas’ head coach, collecting a 74-106 overall record and a 37-45 mark in MIAA conference play.
In 2021, Balazs’ squad posted a 15-29 overall record with a 9-17 conference result. Pittsburg State finished its season with a loss to Northwest Missouri on May 1 and did not make the MIAA tournament that was played this past weekend.
Prior to her tenure at Pittsburg State, Balazs spent three seasons on staff at Division I Evansville. She was part of the 2016 Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year while with the Purple Aces. Her coaching resume also includes a single season as head coach at Viterbo University in Wisconsin and two years as a graduate assistant at UIndy.
