Cal State Fullerton and coach Kelly Ford have agreed to a contract extension.
The new pact will keep Ford at the helm of the Titans through the 2024 season. She was named the program’s head coach in October of 2012, and will enter her seventh season leading the squad in 2019.
During her tenure at Fullerton, Ford has earned more than 200 victories, collecting a .608 winning percentage. For her success leading the Titans, Ford has earned three consecutive Big West Coach of the Year trophies.
Under Ford’s leadership, the Titans have reached the 30-win plateau in five consecutive seasons. That streak includes a 45-16 record during the 2016 season, the program’s best record since the 2002 campaign. The Titans have won three straight Big West championships, a streak that stretches back to the ’16 season.
Before taking the helm of the Titans, Ford spent eleven years as the head coach at Mount San Antonio Junior College in Walnut, California, and also served single-season stints as an assistant coach at Cal State Northridge and Oklahoma, as well as a two-year tenure at Cal State Fullerton in the early 2000s.
As a player, Ford played a pair of seasons for Clint Myers at Central Arizona College, contributing to two NJCAA National Championships, before joining the Oklahoma Sooners under Jim Beitia.
