Pitcher Mikayla Santa Cruz is joining the Creighton Blue Jays via transfer, the school announced earlier this week.
Santa Cruz, a sophomore hurler, will be immediately eligible for the Blue Jays following her transfer from Arizona State, where she spent the 2019 season.
During her single season in Tempe, Santa Cruz accrued 20.1 innings of work in the circle, including fourteen appearances as a relief pitcher. She collected ten strikeouts, to go along with a 5.85 ERA.
“I am so excited and happy to be joining the Bluejay family,” Santa Cruz said in a school statement. “God has a crazy way of putting you in the right place at right time. He put me right at home.”
Creighton finished the 2019 season with a 20-24 overall record, along with an 8-13 conference mark. The squad will kick off the 2020 season on February 7th against Toledo in San Antonio, Texas.
