Kimberly Stiles is the new head coach at Holy Cross, the school announced late Wednesday evening.
Stiles most recently was the head coach at Division II Charleston for five seasons and led the Golden Eagles’ program to a 141-83 record during her tenure. In Stiles’ first season, 2017, the Golden Eagles advanced to the NCAA tournament and the squad was also ranked 23rd in the nation when the 2020 season abruptly ended.
“Kimberly Stiles will be an exceptional leader for our softball student-athletes,” Holy Cross athletic director Marcus Blossom said in a school statement. “She will energize our team with her thoughtful and passionate approach to both on-field development and overall personal growth. I would like to thank Jihad Ali and Rosemary Shea for their assistance during this process.”
Prior to her tenure at Charleston, Stiles spent six years as head coach at Davis & Elkins College. Her resume also includes a stint as assistant coach at Midwestern State from 2008-10. As a player, Stiles began her career at Vermont before transferring to Pittsburgh after her freshman season.
Holy Cross finished the 2021 season with an 8-20 overall record, including a 4-16 showing in Patriot League play. The team was 2-9 at the end of the abbreviated 2020 season, and posted a 14-35 showing during the 2019 campaign.
