TRENDING NOW: NCAA TRANSFER TRACKER / COLLEGE COACHING TRACKER
Former Holy Cross head coach Jen Lapicki is joining the coaching staff at Fordham, the school announced on Wednesday.
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Lapicki and her family to Fordham and our softball program.” Fordham head coach Melissa Inouye said in a statement. “She brings so much passion, knowledge, and experience to our program in all facets of the game. Coach Lapicki is a great teacher of the game and our student-athletes will benefit from her both on and off the field. I’ve known her for almost 10 years now and she’s a great coach, but an even better person and I’m so excited for our staff and student-athletes to be around her.”
Lapicki spent the last five seasons as head coach at Holy Cross, guiding the program to a 49-127 overall record during her tenure. The squad assembled a 22-52 showing in Patriot League play over the five seasons and played in the conference tournament in 2017.
Prior to taking the helm at Holy Cross, Lapicki spent a year in the travel ball ranks and was an assistant coach at Princeton and Iona. A Florida State alumnus, Lapicki earned all-ACC second team and all-tournament team honors as a senior in 2011. She was an SEC All-Freshman honoree after beginning her playing career at Tennessee in 2008.
On the Fordham staff, Lapicki takes the position vacated by Katie McEachern, who recently accepted a similar position at Syracuse.
