TRENDING NOW: NCAA TRANSFER TRACKER / COLLEGE COACHING TRACKER
Upper Iowa has named Kiki Stokes as head softball coach, the school announced on Monday.
Stokes spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach at South Dakota State and helped tutor the Jackrabbit offense. SDSU won the Summit League title and reached the NCAA tournament for the first time in program history in 2021.
“We couldn’t be more excited to announce our new leader of the softball program at UIU,” Upper Iowa athletic director Rick Hartzell said in a school statement. “Kiki will bring a tremendous work ethic to the team and help lead us back to the top half of the Northern Sun Conference. She will have the trust of the players from the start with her outstanding competitive background at Nebraska and her coaching experience at two high-quality, NCAA Division I universities.”
During her playing career, Stokes was a 2-time All-American at Nebraska. She ended her career with a .350 batting average and set the Huskers’ program record with 200 career runs scored. She went on to a multi-year professional career.
