Veteran collegiate coach Sheryl Neff passed away on September 18th, according to a recent obituary. She was 64 years old.
As a student-athlete in the 1970s, Neff played softball and basketball at Ohio Northern University before finishing her collegiate career at Abilene Christian, where she joined the track and field roster.
She began her collegiate coaching career at the University of Findlay, then an NAIA school, and led the program to eight conference championships and one district championship, guiding a pair of players to All-American awards.
Following her tenure at Findlay, Neff went on to be the head coach at Barton College, where she spent more than two decades at the helm. She passed the 300-win milestone at Barton during the 2013 season and, in 2011, shepherded the program’s first-ever All-American. Neff departed the program following the 2016 season.
