Three members of the Louisiana-Lafayette roster entered the transfer portal on Wednesday, sources confirmed to JWOS.
Jolie Readeaux, Addalyn Lightner, and Mia Cantu all entered their names into the portal. The trio join infielder Kourtney Gremillion as players to depart the Cajuns program since the beginning of August. Gremillion matriculated at Charlotte in late September.
Readeaux, a junior, appeared in 42 games as a freshman in 2018, starting in half of her appearances at four different positions. She finished that year 5-5 in stolen bases and contributed to her team’s postseason run in both the conference and NCAA tournaments. As a sophomore in 2019, Readeaux primarily played second base and served as a pinch runner. She took a redshirt year in 2020 to recover from a 2019 injury.
Cantu, a native of The Woodlands, Texas, is a true freshman who earned two consecutive Offensive Player of the Year awards at her Spring, Texas high school. In 2018, she helped lead her team to a 3rd-place finish at the PGF Nationals 16U event.
Lightner, also a true freshman, is a native of Blue Springs, Missouri. She batted .438 during her high school career, and twice earned all-state honors. She helped lead her high school team to a pair of state titles and played travel ball for the DeMarini Aces out of Kansas City.
With the departure of the three players, the Cajuns’ roster sits at 26 for the 2021 season.
