Gina Snyder is joining the North Florida coaching staff for the 2022 season, JWOS confirmed on Friday.
UNF assistant coach Jeff Conrad posted a photo on social media that labeled Snyder as the Ospreys’ new volunteer assistant coach. Additional sources later confirmed the appointment to JWOS.
Snyder spent the 2021 season as the graduate assistant on staff at Jacksonville. For the past two summers, she has served as a head coach in the Florida Gulf Coast League, leading the Bradenton Slice in the summer league.
During her playing career, Snyder spent two seasons at Purdue before finishing her career at Arizona. As a senior in 2019, Snyder became the first collegiate pitcher to shut out the Japanese national team in a game, earning the victory over the international 2nd-ranked Japan squad.
Snyder’s hiring follows the Ospreys’ addition of a pair of transfers earlier in July; the program added WKU transfer Maggie Trgo and former Liberty Flame Savannah Channell on July 13th.
