Alabama A&M has named Cassandra Brown as the program’s new head coach.
Brown, a program alum, follows in the stead and takes the program’s reins from former head coach Nakeya Hall, who accepted the head coaching position at Grambling earlier in the summer.
An assistant coach for the Lady Bulldogs from 2015-17, Brown served at that time as the program’s pitching coach and worked with players on both ends of the A&M battery.
Brown’s coaching resume includes only the previous stint on the staff at her alma mater, as she joined the program’s coaching staff directly following her own playing career. As a Lady Bulldog player, Brown spent four years as a starting pitcher on the team’s roster, collecting 165 career strikeouts in eighty career appearances in the circle.
Alabama A&M ended the 2018 season with a 22-21 overall record, which included an 11-8 mark in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) matchups.
