Louisville has added a pair of players via the transfer portal. Former Auburn players Chardonnay Harris and Carmyn Greenwood, both of whom entered the NCAA’s transfer portal after the season, have been announced as the newest members of the Cardinals’ roster for the 2020 campaign. Harris pitched well for the Tigers down the stretch in 2019, including a complete-game, shutout victory over Missouri in the SEC Tournament. She finished the ’19 season with an 11-7 overall record and a 2.91 ERA. For her career as a Tiger, Harris collected fourteen wins and 164 strikeouts in 144.1 innings of work. Greenwood…

The Texas Longhorns made a pair of headline-making moves last week, adding Steve Singleton as an assistant coach, while also improving their on-field product with the addition of transfer catcher Colleen Sullivan. An incoming sophomore, Sullivan was part of the UCLA squad that won the 2019 Women’s College World Series. Starting thirty-two games on the season, Sullivan batted .239 with five home runs and twelve RBIs. She started four games for the Bruins in the WCWS, collecting fifteen at-bats. Longtime Nebraska head coach Rhonda Revelle has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of a review. Several local news outlets in Nebraska reported Revelle’s leave late Tuesday night. Television station KETV-7 out of Omaha reflected the following statement from Nebraska Athletics: ​ We take seriously any concerns raised regarding our student athletes. As part of our due diligence, Coach Revelle has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the completion of a review. In first head coaching role, former Ole Miss pitching coach plans to stay true to her roots Ashley Chastain wasn’t looking for a new job; she was comfortable exactly where she was. Detroit Mercy ​has found their new head coach, promoting Marc Gillis to the role. Gillis spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach on the Titans’ staff, working with the program’s pitching staff. The eight-team field has been announced for the Europe/Africa Olympic qualifier that is set to take place later this month. Six European teams that finished atop the Women’s Softball European Championship tournament field this week will participate in the Olympic qualifying event. Former Wingate head coach Lani Shaffer Ries has joined the coaching staff at Gardner-Webb as an assistant coach. Ries leaves Wingate, a Division II program, after seven seasons as the Bulldogs’ head coach. She collected more than 200 victories, with a 210-148-1 overall record and a .585 winning percentage in the South Atlantic Conference. Ries led the Bulldogs to a trio of NCAA tournament appearances, including a postseason berth in the 2019 season. UConn has named Laura Valentino as the program’s new head coach. Valentino spent the last two seasons on staff at Duke, working with the Blue Devils’ infield, catchers, and offense. The Blue Devils recorded fifty-four victories during her pair of seasons on staff, while the program’s offense hit .261 with forty-four home runs under her guidance. Prior to her tenure at Duke, Valentino spent three years on staff at  Charlotte, where her specialties also included the team’s offense, defense, and catching corps. Boston College has named Amy Kvilhaug as the program’s new head coach. Kvilhaug most recently spent twelve years as the head coach at St. John’s, having retired following the 2018 season. During her tenure at St. John’s, Kvilhaug led the Red Storm to seven Big East tournament appearances and nearly 300 victories, as well as an NCAA tournament berth in 2015.
