Army West Point has named Cheryl Milligan as the program’s new head coach. Milligan spent the 2019 season as an assistant coach with the Black Knights, her first coaching experience at the Division I level. Prior to beginning her tenure at Army, Milligan spent fifteen years as the head coach at Division III Tufts University. During her tenure at Tufts, Milligan built the Jumbos into perennial national title contenders, leading the squad to three consecutive national championships from 2013-15. Central Michigan has found their new head coach, hiring McCall Salmon last week. Salmon most recently spent the last six years as the head coach at Davenport University, helping lead the Panthers through the transition from the NAIA level to NCAA Division II. She collected a 235-63 overall record during her tenure at the school, good enough for a .788 winning percentage at the program’s helm. Under Salmon’s guidance, Davenport posted a 32-21 overall record on the 2019 season, earning a second-place conference finish. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has named Kristen Zaleski as the program’s new head coach. Zaleski most recently was the head coach at Temple College for nine seasons, collecting a 413-127 overall record during her tenure. She led the program to the NJCAA Division I national championship title in 2018. During Zaleski’s tenure at Temple, the program won their conference championship on five occasions, reaching the national championship tournament four times. Minot State has hired former Augustana assistant coach Nat Wagner as their new head coach. Most recently, Wagner spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Augustana and was part of the coaching staff that led the Vikings to the 2019 national championship title. During his tenure, the Vikings posted a 143-42 overall record and appeared in the NCAA tournament in all three seasons. Andy Lee has been named the new head coach at Northwest Florida State College, an NJCAA Division I program, the school announced earlier in June. Lee spent the last eleven seasons as the head coach at LSU-Eunice, an NJCAA Division II school in Louisiana. Lee turned the Bengals into a perennial championship contender and postseason powerhouse, with nine NJCAA national tournament appearances and six national championships to the program’s credit during his tenure. Jessica Jones has been named the permanent head coach at SIU-Edwardsville, the school announced on Thursday. Jones spent the 2019 season as the interim head coach after taking over for program architect Sandy Montgomery last summer. The Cougars finished the 2019 season with a 16-28 overall record. When Southeast Missouri’s softball team clinched a berth in the NCAA tournament this season, it was the first time in two decades that the Redhawks would play in the Regional round of the postseason.
