Former George Mason assistant coach Caitlyn de la Haba has been named the new head coach at Lafayette.

De la Haba spent two seasons at George Mason, working with the team’s pitching staff. In 2017, de la Haba tutored the Atlantic 10 Co-Pitcher of the Year in Marina Vitalich.

In addition to her time at George Mason, de la Haba’s resume also includes a stint as an assistant coach at Lehigh that kickstarted her Division 1 coaching career.

A former Villanova player, de la Haba earned fifty-five career wins in the circle, good enough for a top-five placement in the school’s record books. De la Haba ended her career as the ‘Nova program record holder for career complete games, as well as third all-time in career pitching strikeouts, with more than 650 at the time of her graduation.

At Lafayette, de la Haba inherits a program that finished 13-28 in 2017, with a 5-13 record in conference play. The Leopards averaged ten wins a season over each of the last four years.
