Former Texas pitcher Ryleigh White has announced plans to transfer to Tennessee.
“Looking forward to giving my all to Tennessee EVERYday! I am now a Lady Vol,” White wrote on Instagram on Thursday evening.
As a freshman in 2021, White collected a 3.57 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP in fifty-one innings of work. Part of a 5-member pitching staff in Austin, White went 5-1 on the year and notched 40 strikeouts, while opponents hit .247 against her.
She is the second high-profile transfer to join Tennessee’s pitching staff this summer; former Texas Tech pitcher Erin Edmoundson previously announced plans to become a Lady Vol. The pair will join a staff that is led by ace Ashley Rogers.
White will wear the #17 jersey at Tennessee.
