Chidester was named the National Pro Fastpitch Offensive Player of the Year during the professional league’s summer season. A former longtime member of Team USA, she was named to the USA squad after a weeklong tryout in October.
“HitTrax is honored to bring aboard such a passionate and talented athlete like Chiddy,” said HitTrax Director of Softball Operations Elena Bowman. “Her dedication to the game and contagious attitude make her the perfect partner as we launch HitTrax clinics and continue expanding our presence in the softball community. We are looking forward to working closely with her as she integrates HitTrax into her trainings and prepares for the 2020 Olympics.”
During her collegiate career at the University of Michigan from 2009-12, Chidester earned a pair of all-American honors and was named the Big Ten Player of the Year in 2011 and 2012. A true utility player, she earned all-conference honors at multiple positions during her time as a Wolverine, including as a utility player and third baseman during her respective all-American campaigns.
HitTrax is a data capture and simulation system that provides a variety of performance data, along with a healthy dose of entertainment value. The company hosted a Home Run Derby during the 2018 NFCA Convention that included a variety of professional softball players using the system in an indoor batting cage, with the winner determined using the system’s various capabilities.
