Here’s something interesting… During her career at Cal, there were two “Reid” jerseys on…
After winning the Big Ten tournament championship in 2013, the Wisconsin Badgers struggled for a few years to gain an identity as a contender on the national stage. Though they have yet to reach a firm plateau on national prominence, the program has seen particularly stable footing in the last couple of seasons, with back-to-back appearances in the NCAA tournament in 2017 and ’18. The Badgers have reached that level of established contention thanks in no small part to pitcher Kaitlyn Menz. The junior right-hander has not ended a single season in her career without a trip to the NCAA tournament,…

In a brief statement posted online, Oregon, Glasco’s alma mater, said, “”Oregon Softball and the UO Athletics family is devastated to learn of the passing of Geri Ann Glasco, and we extend our deepest sympathies to Geri Ann’s family, friends, and former teammates. Geri Ann was an amazing young woman who always had an extremely positive impact on everyone that she met. We were privileged to have Geri Ann…
The entire 2020 Olympic softball field will be set by the first of October of this year after the World Baseball Softball Confederation earlier this week announced the dates for the remaining qualifying tournaments. Three qualifying tournaments will be held, set to take place in Canada, China, and the Netherlands. Participation in each event will be geographically-based, designed to allow a world representation on the Olympic stage. Japan and the United States are the only teams that have already been confirmed for the Olympic Games; the US qualifed last summer by winning the Women’s Softball World Championship, while Japan, as…
Junior pitcher Maggie Balint is expected to leave Oregon as early as Monday afternoon, sources with knowledge of the situation have informed JWOS. Up to this point, Balint has been the lone holdover in the pitching circle from the tenure of former head coach Mike White and had previously seemingly elected to play under first-year head coach Melyssa Lombardi, following the transfer of her all-American counterparts Megan Kleist and Miranda Elish. As a freshman in 2017, Balint earned first-team all-PAC 12 honors and was a top three finalist for National Freshman of the Year after posting a team-leading 1.22 ERA…

Here’s something interesting… In addition to being a quality softball hurler, Gatti earned her Bachelor’s degree in food studies and says she found a “passion” in that field. “It’s all about learning how to use the resources around you to make…
