San Jose State standout Suzy Brookshire has entered the NCAA’s transfer portal, JWOS confirmed on Monday. Brookshire’s name appeared in the portal on October 2nd, almost exactly one month after SJSU hired a new head coach. Brookshire is just the second Spartan to enter her name in the portal following the unceremonious dismissal of longtime head coach Peter Turner earlier in the summer. Thanks to the NCAA’s extended eligibility waiver due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Brookshire has one season of eligibility remaining. Generally, a player who transfers twice during their collegiate career must sit out one season, but it is…

When Adrian Gregory stepped down as Texas Tech’s head coach last week, the coaching carousel began to heat up once again. Despite the controversy surrounding Gregory’s resignation and the circumstances leading up to it, the Red Raiders’ head coaching position is a solid job as the program has trended upwards in the last couple of years. Despite no postseason appearances in the first four years of her tenure, Gregory led the program to the NCAA tournament and a regional final appearance in 2019, and collected a 17-9 overall record in 2020 that included a pair of wins over SEC foes.…

With that in mind, we’ve assembled the list of the longest-tenured full coaching staffs in all of Division I. For purposes of this list, we defined a full staff as…

One of the flagship tenets of the still-new Athletes Unlimited league is the absence of traditional coaching roles. Players govern themselves, call their own pitches, and make their own decisions in the batter’s box. But without coaches, who handles the lineup card or waves a runner home? In AU, they’re called facilitators. While the weekly team captains fill out their own lineup cards and technically even make in-game personnel decisions, the facilitators handle substitutions with the umpire and occupy the third-base coach’s box. Four facilitators are in Rosemont for the AU season, and work with a new team each week on a…
