Former LSU star Bailey Landry has announced her retirement as a player.
After her collegiate career, Landry went on to play in the National Pro Fastpitch league for a single season with the Texas Charge, where she was named the NPF Rookie of the Year, before spending a pair of seasons with the Scrap Yard Fastpitch organization.
During her collegiate career at LSU, Landry was twice named an all-American and helped lead the Tigers to three Women’s College World Series berths. Landry earned conference honors in three of her four seasons as a Tiger, including all-SEC Freshman honors in 2014 and a pair of all-conference selections in 2015 and ’17.
In addition to her overflowing trophy case, Landry ended her collegiate career as the LSU all-time leader in base hits, with nearly 300 to her credit. She finished her career as the second player in LSU history to record two seasons with a .400 batting average, and was one of six players in program history with at least 200 hits, 150 runs scored, 100 RBI, and 75 walks during her career.
Landry finished her career in the top five of several program statistical categories, including career batting average; on base percentage; runs scored; and triples, in addition to setting the career hits record.
In addition to her playing career, Landry is part of the staff for The Packaged Deal clinics and is a private instructor.
