The Mexican National team will be one of six squads stepping onto the softball diamond on the hunt for a gold medal in Tokyo during the 2020 Olympic Games, and Team Mexico officials have announced a list of exhibition games and events where fans can see the squad take the field prior to the Olympics’ official kick-off.

From January through May, Team Mexico will play in four different countries and against a handful of college teams in the United States to prepare for their return to the Olympic Games. Exhibition tournaments include the Asia Pacific Cup in Sydney, Australia from January 30-February 2 and a training camp with exhibition games against Team Italy and a European squad that is set to take place in May.

Domestically, the Mexican squad will participate in back-to-back weekends of the Puerto Vallarta tournament, put on by Triple Crown, to start the season. Per the national team’s schedule of events, Team Mexico is expected could play Tennessee and Texas, among other collegiate teams, in exhibition affairs.

In March and April, Team Mexico will also travel to San Diego; Tucson; and Fresno, playing five collegiate teams, as well as the Canadian national squad.

Along with the domestic and overseas exhibition schedule, the Mexican National Federation also has renewed their commitment to partner with the Cleveland Comets of the National Pro Fastpitch league, and will field a team during that league’s 2020 summer season.

See below for the full schedule of Team Mexico’s exhibition games in 2020:
January 30 – February 2 —- Asia Pacific Cup, Sydney, Australia
February 8-16 —- Triple Crown event, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
March 24 —- San Diego, California vs. San Diego State and University of San Diego
March 26-28 —- Tucson, Arizona vs. BYU, New Mexico, and Arizona
