Florida State assistant coach Craig Snider will be named the new assistant coach at Texas A&M, according to sources close to the program. Snider was part of the Florida State coaching staff that led the program to its first-ever National Championship in 2018. The staff was later named the NFCA’s National Coaching Staff of the Year. The 2019 WCWS All-Tournament Team was announced at the conclusion of the Women’s College World Series Championship Series. Twelve players were selected from the eight participating teams. UCLA’s Rachel Garcia was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player and was one of four members of the national champion Bruins to earn a nomination to the team. Louisiana-Lafayette starting second baseman Casidy Chaumont has entered the NCAA’s transfer portal. On Wednesday, the Ragin’ Cajuns announced the addition of three transfers, including former Oregon standout Mia Camuso; ex-Missouri star Callie Martin; and former international headline-maker Melissa Mayeux. Chaumont spent much of the last two seasons as the starting second baseman for the club, completing her sophomore season with the completion of the 2019 campaign. Ole Miss pitching coach Ashley Chastain has been named the new head coach at Charlotte. Chastain spent two years at Ole Miss, working with the Rebels’ pitching staff that included Kaitlin Lee, Molly Jacobsen, and Brittany Finney over her tenure in Oxford. In 2018, the Rebels posted a 2.80 team ERA and .252 opponent’s batting average, with even more impressive numbers (2.29, .238) in 2019. The Rebels advanced to the NCAA tournament in both years, including a berth in the Tucson Super Regional in ’19. Virginia Tech ace pitcher Carrie Eberle has entered the NCAA’s transfer portal. Sources informed JWOS that Eberle entered the portal on Wednesday morning. A 2020 senior, Eberle graduated from Virginia Tech this spring, earning her degree in three years. As a freshman in 2017, Eberle posted a 3.42 ERA and seventy-nine strikeouts, earning a nomination to the ACC’s All-Freshman team. In 2018, Eberle earned second-team all-conference and all-region honors after posting a 1.72 ERA and .182 opponent’s batting average, both marks that finished in the top three in the ACC statistical standings.
